Frequently asked questions

Q

What facilities are close to the villa?

Whilst Spice of Life is in a quiet and secluded location we are conveniently located to some local facilities:

  • 5-minute walk to Martins Bar at Secret Harbour Marina. With lovely views across the bay this has been recently modernised and is a beautify spot. A nice stroll for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks. (www.secretharbourgrenada.com)
  • 10-minute walk to Gary Rhodes restaurant at the Calabash Hotel. More formal and quite pricy but a fantastic venue for a special occasion. (www.calabashhotel.com/dining/rhodes-restaurant ). There is also a beautiful (and much less formal) lunch restaurant here – the Beach Club restaurant – well worth a visit for lunch on the beach edge.
  • 10-minute walk to the Spice Affair restaurant. A lovely restaurant – highly recommended (https://www.facebook.com/spiceaffairgd/)
  • 10-minute walk to the Junction Bar. A lively local bar that also serves food. They often have live music also. (www.facebook.com/JunctionBarGrillGrenada)
  • 10-minute walk to the West Indies Beer Company. A lively local bar, next to The Junction Bar that serves onsite brewed beer and food. They often have live music also (http://westindiesbeer.com/bar.html)
  • 10-minute walk to Prickly Bay Marina. This used to be a sleepy bar and pizza restaurant, but over the years it has become a very popular spot with yaughties, students, locals and visitors. They often have entertainment from local bands, salsa dance nights and classes, film nights and even their own twist on Bingo (which is absolutely packed with yaughties, students, locals and visitors! They have recently also opened a French deli on site. (www.pricklybaymarina.com)
  • 10-minute walk to a local beach: https://www.puregrenada.com/attractions/lance-aux-epines-beach
Q

How far is the nearest beach?

The nearest beach is approx 1/2 mile away Lance aux Epines beach.  However this is a quite small beach and we usually go further.  Our favourite quiet beach is Morne Rouge (or locally known as BBC) Beach.  This is a quiet but beautiful beach approx 10 minutes by car from the villa.  Otherwise the main Grand Anse beach is the major tourist beach with ample facilities for renting beach equipment and places to buy food and drink.

Q

Do I need to hire a car?

Technically no.  Some people stay at the villa and just venture out for shopping or on arranged tours.  In that case we cover transfer from and to the airport and you would only need to book a taxi for shopping trips etc.  However, most people (including ourselves when we are on Island) hire a car to allow them to make the most of Grenada and their stay.

Q

What is included in the price?

The cost of the villa rental including:

  • A daily house keeping service (5 days a week)
  • Transfers from the airport
  • All applicable local taxes
  • All electricity, gas & water charges etc.
